BIODYNAMIC CRANIOSACRAL RESONANCE THERAPY in North-West Ireland

Person experiencing craniosacral therapy

Support, connection and deep healing according to your body’s wisdom.

Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a profound yet subtle and gentle approach that utilizes the body’s innate natural ability to heal itself. Through light touch, the therapist gives support and encourages natural, fluid systems to re-establish physical, mental and emotional balance.

Healing happens on different levels of relaxation. We allow ourselves to relax when we feel safe enough. Tuning into your body and creating trust between you and the practitioner before the session is part of this process. Through relaxation, we will regain access to our resources, and the body uses this opportunity to let go of what is not needed, rebalance what is not in harmony and reorganise everything for a lighter optimal performance.

The session takes place on a massage table, fully clothed. As a client, you can simply lay down and relax. The practitioner takes different gentle hand positions on your body and holds each for 5-15 minutes. Every touch is always negotiated, and light communication may happen throughout the session from time to time when it is meaningful.

Even though the touch is gentle, the effect can be deep and profound. Clients can feel different bodily sensations: warmth, heat, cold, trembles, twitches, contractions, buzzing, expansion and deep relaxation. You may also see pictures or colours, notice old releasing memories or experience profound peace. Old compressed emotions are released, and energy is reorganising back to the centreline. Your physical body is healing and resting.

It’s very powerful, you know. Thank you, Ida. I’m sharing some after session thoughts with you: in the beginning, it felt almost the same as after sauna. Then I felt my overthinking and worrying a bit active still, yet slowly but surely, this started to fade away, and my eyebrows and corners of my mouth started to go up. When I reached the shop in town, I totally “lost it”. I could barely keep myself from laughing out loud, and the covid mask helped to keep a straight face a bit, but my eyes were shining, and my whole body was laughing. Thinking back to it, it feels as if I compensated for all the unleashed laughs of my life during those 5 minutes in the shop. Overwhelming thick joy! Ps, I can still feel many sensations in my lower back. It feels as if my whole vertebra is breathing. I am in deep gratitude.
— Daniel, a private client after a BCST session

What are the origins of BCST?

The biodynamic approach (BCST) to craniosacral therapy is part of a broader movement of CST. It is based on the works of William G. Sutherland, D.O, an American osteopathic physiotherapist and cranio-osteopath.

BCST bases itself on anatomy, physiology, embryology and modern neurobiology.

Our body is emitting a very subtle rhythmical pulsation guided by our body's inner forces. This subtle motion is apparent for our whole life, from gestation until death, and it directly expresses the Life Force and internal Health of the body. As a result of different traumas, emotional and physical challenges and limiting experiences, our life force can be somewhat constricted and blocked. Sometimes we feel it clearly: tensions, pains, fears, illnesses… And sometimes, it is expressed more vaguely: stress, emotional meltdowns, impulsiveness, etc.

Free movement of the Life Force is the very thing we support with the light touches and presence so that the energy can be released and rejoined with our primary system. Breath of Life aka subtle movement of life energy in our body, is an expression of a deeply creative force with its intelligence and wisdom.

Allowing healing is not to "do something" to the body from the outside, but to be present, listen, and support the Breath of Life in its expressions and therefore, the body heals.

As a BCST practitioner, I am still a student and learning the fullness of this method. There are things I still don’t know or can’t do. On the other hand, learning never stops. It’s just something I want you to know when you choose this possibility. I work primarily according to my intuition, and by now, I have three years of practical experience with weekly clients with this method.

Counselling + BCST, 2.5h is always advised as a first session, 125 eur.

For someone who has already experienced BCST with me and is interested in only therapy + light conversation, I offer shorter, 1.5h sessions, 80 eur.

CRANIO is an in-person therapy only! Available in Ireland, Sligo area, or in Estonia when I’m travelling.
